Slick tech, seamless flow: Microservices based platform architecture powers next-gen UX

The existing platform had scalability and maintainability issues and users experienced delays in page loads and refreshes. The client needed a modern architecture through UI and UX modernization to reduce manual errors and improve the user experience.

Migrating to modernized, microservices platform

Ascendion allied with clients to migrate infrastructure from IBM WebSphere to AWS leveraging auto scaling, Aurora DB and Redis Cache. The front-end of the application was rewritten in Angular making the UI responsive. The application shifted from 2-tier to microservices based 3-tier architecture. Alongside these transformations, data migration service was seamlessly integrated, ensuring a smooth transition of critical data.CI/CD automation was implemented in the application leading to drastic quality and performance improvements and minimizes the risk and time for deployments/releases

The results:

• Web hosting charges decreased significantly on AWS as compared to IBM WebSphere
• CI/CD automation enabled to take build and releases with better quality
• Better user experience with light and responsive UI due to the angular and micro-services-based architecture
