A global management consulting firm wanted to upgrade their legacy system used for their customer’s research administration and analytics with effective cloud engineering services. The system directly impacts over 600k students, managing over $47 billion in grants. They spent a significant 28% of their operational expenses to keep up with this and had challenges in meeting customization.

Revamping the application to speed up grants

As a cloud engineering services company, Ascendion Co-engineered 3 of the 12 applications (IACUC, Safety, IRB) of the HRS and developed a SaaS product hosting on AWS. Built the modern application (HRS) as a single, cloud based multi-tenant product with the latest technologies and developed application specific Microservices with Open APIs for seamless third-party integration conforming to render responses within 2-3 seconds. We refactored the product suite to align with a secure cloud strategy, ensuring for an operationally scalable platform. Implemented parallel strategy of current gen platform growth while simultaneously re-writing platform to cloud. Rebranded the client’s research suite to better resonate with customers and growth areas
