- Prioritizing Strategic Validation: AI can help in the “how” of coding, yet the human engineer is still accountable for the “what” and the “why.” This entails substantiating the architectural design, security posture, performance, and long-term maintainability of the solution with human reviews and rigorous monitoring of team performance metrics.
Unmonitored use of AI can result in extensive technical debt and added security threats. It is essential that organizations draw up proper regulations for AI tool usage, code review policies, and ownership to forestall these issues. The future of software development hinges on our capability to use AI as an operator that executes intent, rather than as a replacement for human intelligence.
