Our technology allows our recruiters to spend more time on what really matters—connecting with candidates on a personal level and understanding their unique aspirations and career goals.

Well, that’s a reality at Ascendion.

Whether it’s a two-page CV or a hefty 10-pager, our AI platform, Manage and Engage Talent (METal), quickly formats it into a sleek, professional template. This alone shaves off around 20 minutes per resume—no more worrying about fonts or layouts!

Another key feature of METal is its auto-sourcing capability, where AI scans and matches candidate profiles from our own resume database, focusing on candidates within a 30-mile radius of the job location. As soon as an open role is entered into the system, METal instantly delivers a list of qualified candidates, streamlining the sourcing process with precision and efficiency. This isn’t just about keyword matches, we have built a system that evaluates candidates based on a 70% or higher match, ensuring the most relevant profiles are gathered. Once sourced, METal handles the next step by sending personalized emails to candidates—including the job application link, reformatted resume, and an option to schedule an interview—all without the recruiter needing to lift a finger.

This automation means our recruiters spend less time on the repetitive tasks and more time connecting with candidates. And the results? Big wins. We have seen a 25-30% boost in productivity—all thanks to AI handling the heavy lifting.

By automating the tasks that bog down the recruitment process, our recruiters can now focus on what they do best—building relationships and finding the perfect fit for both candidates and Ascendion.

Smarter candidate screening with less hassle

For efficient candidate screening, we have implemented automated pre-screening questions that cut down additional back-and-forth during the early stages. These questions, tailored to each job description, help us quickly sort through candidates before they even reach the interview stage. It’s a huge time saver, not just for us, but for the candidates too.

However, the real standout feature of our METal system is the ability to generate job descriptions and Boolean search strings with AI. Now, instead of manually writing out job descriptions and search queries, our system does the work for us. We plug in key skills like Java, AWS, and Spring Boot, and AI crafts a full job description and search string in minutes. No more spending hours fine-tuning every word!
Another interesting development is the AI-driven app that our LATAM team developed to match resumes against job descriptions. Built on AWS Party Rock, the app matches resumes to job descriptions by assigning a weighted score, showing the percentage match, key strengths, and areas for improvement. This gives recruiters clear insights into why a candidate is a good or poor fit, enabling more targeted, effective conversations.

AI enhances human decisions

Of course, while AI does a lot of the legwork, the human element remains essential. Recruiters still need to engage with candidates, ensure accuracy of skills, and verify alignment with our client’s specifications.

At the end of the day, AI helps us make quicker, more informed decisions, but it’s our recruiters who ensure that each hire meets Ascendion’s standards of excellence. This blend of AI-driven efficiency and human insight has improved candidate conversion rates and enhanced the overall hiring experience.

Looking ahead: What’s next for AI in hiring?

As we continue to move forward, we are focusing on integrating even more advanced AI capabilities into our systems. Future plans include AI integration with video platforms like Zoom for real-time conversation tracking and detecting AI-generated resumes to further improve the accuracy of our hiring processes.

We are also looking to implement a live application tracker on our website, where applicants can check the status of their candidacy in real time—whether they are waiting for an interview, being reviewed, or have moved on to the next stage. This helps improve the candidate’s experience as they have constant visibility into their application, throughout the whole hiring process.
